The Woodlands is a unique community, focused on preserving natural beauty. It’s filled with miles of secluded walking trails, sparkling lakes and beautiful town centers. There is always something to do here! Today, we’re counting a few of our favorite ways to get out and enjoy the outdoors in this community!
Hughes Landing and Market Street
Do you love to shop? Hughes Landing and Market Street are two of the Woodlands’ most popular town areas, perfect for getting out and enjoying the beautiful scenery, while discovering new shops and restaurants! At Market Street, venture over to the town green behind the Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion, and enjoy a 3-mile walk along the Waterway lined with bright flowers and beautiful trees. Keep an eye out for large public art sculptures as well!
If you’re more of a lake lover, Hughes Landing is the place for you. On Restaurant Row, take a stroll along the 1-mile boardwalk passing some of the area’s finest eateries. Simply relax and enjoy the view, or take part in the action yourself! At the Lakes Edge boat house, kayaks and paddle boards are available to rent so you can get out and explore Lake Woodlands firsthand.
George Mitchell Nature Preserve
Named after the developer of The Woodlands area, this remarkable 1,700 acre nature preserve allows residents a quiet, wild place to escape the town. Take a short walk on the 2-mile hiking loop, or get lost amongst the forest with over 3 miles of bike trails. The lake is also a great place for those who love to fish! The best part? It’s located right in the heart of the Woodlands, just minutes away from many local neighborhoods.
Spring Creek Nature Trail
If you’re an avid hiker, biker, or dedicated nature lover, you’ll love the Spring Creek Nature Trail! This is the Woodlands’ largest trail, offering over 14 miles of natural surface paths amongst the wilderness. This trail is so long, it is estimated to take over 8 hours to walk it in its entirety!
